So once I had everything up and running, I just didn't notice much of a speed boost. I ended up buying a nice little hub that sits under the Mini, has an internal slot for an SSD, and several more ports. Really could've used some USB-C ports and some more expansion, but fine. There's HDMI, two Thunderbolts, and two USB-A ports. Come to hook it all up, and I was a bit disappointed that the M1 didn't have a lot of connections. I did my research and got a really nice 27" LG display. I already had a really good keyboard and trackball, so I just had to buy a monitor. I was a graphic designer and looked forward to the boosts. However, it was getting a little old, and when the M1 Mini was announced, with promises of huge speed boosts and whatnot, I got really excited and jumped on it. Previous to this Mini, my computer was a 27" iMac from around 2015. I've had everything from a Mac Plus to a blue and white Pro to several versions of iMacs. I'll start off by saying I'm a big Apple fan and have been since about 1988, so I'm not coming to this as a big anti-Apple grump.
